Position Overview:


The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Kshema General Insurance Company will be a key member of our executive team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operational functions and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our insurance products and services across the country. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading large-scale in-house and field operations across the country in the BFSI sector, with a strong focus on process optimization and leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Strategic Operations Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to operational functions, including field ops, sales support, underwriting, claims processing, customer service, and platform management, to drive growth and operational excellence at Kshema.
  2. Process Optimization: Lead initiatives to streamline and optimize operational processes, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  3. Technology Integration: Drive the implementation and integration of technology solutions to support our platform-led approach to insurance products, ensuring seamless integration across all operational functions.
  4. Customer Support Excellence: Oversee the development and implementation of customer support strategies and initiatives to deliver exceptional customer experiences, including call center operations and customer service processes.
  5. Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor overall performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous operational optimization.
  6. Risk Management: Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks at Kshema, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations as well as managing appropriate loss ratios.
  7. Talent Development: Build and develop a high-performing operational team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  8. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, as well as technology partners, regulators, and industry associations, to drive collaboration and alignment.
  9. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team in developing and executing strategic plans and initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and market expansion in the insurance sector.


Qualifications:


  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leadership and senior management experience in large-scale operations spanning across the country, and call center management in the BFSI sector, with a focus on insurance.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, including field operations, underwriting, claims processing, and customer service, with experience in platform-led insurance models preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in process optimization, technology integration, and driving operational efficiency in the BFSI sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving innovation and operational excellence.
