Job Title: Sales Manager – General Fabrication

Location: Bangalore

Experience: Minimum 7 Years (5-10 years in Tendering & Fabrication Sales/Business Development)


Role Overview:

As the Sales Manager for the General Fabrication Business Unit, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales, managing client relationships, and spearheading the growth of business opportunities. You will work closely with internal teams and industry stakeholders to achieve revenue goals while ensuring project success and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement:
  • Strengthen relationships with existing clients to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in the steel fabrication industry.
  • Sales Strategy:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to meet sales quotas and expand market reach.
  • Conduct lead generation, prospecting, and industry analysis to drive growth.
  • Tendering & Project Management:
  • Handle tender submissions, estimation, and project tracking for prospective business.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain profitability across all projects.
  • Operational Coordination:
  • Collaborate with Purchase, Plant, Erection, and Sales teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage post-sales activities, including payment follow-ups.
  • Market Development:
  • Enhance penetration in the infrastructure sector by leveraging a strong network.
  • Maintain and update a robust database of clients and industry contacts.
  • Travel Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel for business meetings, project inspections, and client engagements.


Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred).
  • MBA in Marketing/Business Administration is highly desirable.
  • Industry Experience:
  • Proven track record in Sales/Business Development in steel fabrication or engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with the tendering process, estimation, and documentation (MOUs, JVs).
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Expertise in MIS, Excel, and internet-based tools.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.


Desired Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of the heavy steel fabrication industry.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and adapt strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Strong network within the infrastructure and fabrication sectors.
