Profile Summary:


We are developing & constructing several solar and solar-wind hybrid sites across India. We are looking for a seasoned professional to manage planning, construction, and monitoring of multiple projects simultaneously (across India). The Project Head will ensure all the compliances, regulations, codes at central/state/local level and shall also be responsible for progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis to complete Projects on timely basis. With every project and its uniqueness, the Project Head will be counted on to drive the innovation we’re known for. Role & Responsibilities:


As the Head of Project Planning, Monitoring, and Construction Supervision for solar PV projects in India, your role is multifaceted and pivotal to the successful execution of solar projects. Here's a comprehensive job description:


Role Overview:


As the Head of Project Planning, Monitoring, and Construction Supervision, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of solar PV projects from conception to completion. This includes strategic planning, project scheduling, budgeting, monitoring, quality control, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. You will lead a team of project managers, engineers, and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Planning: Develop strategic plans for the successful execution of solar PV projects, considering factors such as available site, resource assessment, technology selection, and regulatory requirements.


  • Project Scheduling: Develop project schedules and timelines, ensuring that all project activities are properly sequenced and coordinated to meet deadlines.


  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop project budgets and cost estimates, monitor project expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.


  • Procurement: Assist/ Lead selection and procurement of various sub-contractors for civil, mechanical, electrical works at project sites.


  • Construction Supervision: Oversee all construction activities, including site preparation, equipment installation, and commissioning, to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.


  • Quality Control and HSE: Implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure that construction work meets industry standards and project requirements. Person shall also be responsible for be best Health and Safety standards to be adhered at the sites.


  • Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring systems to track project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and take corrective actions as needed. Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.


  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of project managers, engineers, and supervisors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and accountability.


  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, suppliers, and community members, to ensure smooth project execution and address any concerns or issues that may arise. Continuously assess internal resource capacity and plan for new hiring, training and deployment.


  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and permits governing solar PV projects in India, including environmental regulations, land use permissions, and safety standards.


  • Project Completion and Handover: Successful testing and commissioning of the Project as per Industry standards and project requirements and smooth handover to the O&M team with full stake of documentation, as built drawing etc.


  • Risk Mitigation and Catchup Plan: As a Project Head person shall frequently visit the sites and identify any potential risk, which may adversely impact the timelines, and ensure catchup plan in place.


Requirements:


  • Bachelors Degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience of more than 15 years in project management, preferably in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar PV projects for at least 8 years.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar PV technology, construction practices, and regulatory requirements in India.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and monitoring project progress.
  • Always ready to move to project site during site selection, preparation and for trouble shooting.


Qualification & Educational Requirements:


  • Preferable - Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Institute of repute.
