About the Opportunity :We are a VC-backed, fast-growing startup building cutting-edge solutions in the Generative AI space.As an SDE III, you will play a pivotal role in designing and scaling critical backend systems powering our GenAI platform. Youll bring deep technical expertise to architect, build, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency microservices. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure and performance challenges, takes ownership of technical strategy, and can mentor junior developers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities :- Own and drive the design of distributed systems with a focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and fault-tolerance- Lead development of high-volume data processing pipelines and robust backend services- Optimize system performance, reduce latency, and ensure reliability of critical components- Collaborate with product managers, DevOps, and data science teams to align system capabilities with business needs- Establish and promote engineering best practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and observability- Mentor SDE I/II engineers and help scale the teams technical capabilities- Conduct code reviews, define coding standards, and contribute to overall architectureRequired Qualifications :- 8+ years of backend development experience, with 3+ years in technical leadership or system design-heavy roles- B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related field from Tier 1 or Tier 2 institutes- Strong system design skills: distributed systems, microservices, stream processing, high-concurrency systems- Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Java, or Go- Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and multithreaded programming- Experience with building reliable systems and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)- Familiarity with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps practices- Strong focus on code quality, testing (unit, integration, load), and maintainabilityWhy Join :- Build at the forefront of GenAI infrastructure- Own and influence core system design decisions- Work in a fast-paced, high-ownership engineering culture- Competitive compensation, ESOPs, and flexible work policiesExperience : 5 to 10 years (ref:hirist.tech)
