Role: Database Administrator- PostgreSQL Experience: 4+years Location: PAN India Immediate joiners onlyOverview We are seeking an experiencedPostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA)to design, optimize, and maintain mission-critical database systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, automation, and secure data management, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and reliability. Key Responsibilities Database Design & Development Design and implement scalable, efficient database schemas for new and existing applications. Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. Support data modeling and ensure adherence to best practices. Performance & Optimization Monitor database performance and proactively optimize slow-running queries. Implement indexing strategies and best-in-class query tuning techniques for high-volume environments. Diagnose bottlenecks and improve overall database efficiency. Administration Install, configure, patch, and upgrade PostgreSQL servers and related tools. Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes. Configure replication, clustering, and high-availability setups. Security & Compliance Implement and enforce database security policies, user roles, and access controls. Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and regulatory standards. Manage auditing, encryption, and secure configuration baselines. Collaboration Work closely with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to integrate databases within CI/CD pipelines. Provide support to application teams for database-related issues and performance troubleshooting. Automation Automate routine database administrative tasks using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages. Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for database provisioning and deployments. Required Skills Strong hands-on expertise inPostgreSQL administration and development . Proficiency inSQL , query optimization, and performance tuning. Experience withhigh-availability , replication, and clustering (e.g., Streaming Replication, Patroni). Strong knowledge ofLinux/Unix environmentsand shell scripting. Familiarity with cloud-managed database services such asAWS RDS ,Aurora , orAzure Database for PostgreSQL . Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies, security best practices, and monitoring tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience with containerization technologies such asDockerandKubernetes . Knowledge ofPL/pgSQL , JSON/JSONB, partitioning, and advanced PostgreSQL features. Relevant certifications such asCertified PostgreSQL DBA Associateor similar. Exposure to DevOps pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible), and database observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, pgBadger, etc.).
