What You'll Be Doing?

Hedging Strategy & Execution:

- Develop and implement hedging strategies for aluminum and other base metals (copper, zinc, tin, lead) to mitigate price risks on LME, MCX, and other exchanges.

- Analyze market trends, price movements, and historical data to identify optimal hedging opportunities.

- Take advantage of arbitrage opportunities between LME, MCX, and other global exchanges to improve profitability.

- Monitor and manage open sell/buy positions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and risk appetite.

Market Analysis:

- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis of price trends, volatility, and key economic indicators impacting base metals.

- Use advanced analytics to forecast market movements and identify hedging triggers.

- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of exchange dynamics, including trading regulations, margin requirements, and settlement processes.

Broker Coordination:

- Collaborate with brokers to execute trades efficiently, ensuring compliance with exchange requirements and internal policies.

- Maintain strong relationships with brokers to access market insights and secure favorable trading conditions.

- Ensure all broker interactions are documented and aligned with the company's risk management policies.

Cost Sheets & P&L Reporting:

- Create and maintain detailed cost sheets for hedging operations, including exchange fees, broker commissions, and margin costs.

- Develop accurate and transparent hedging P&L reports, combining physical inventory P&L with hedging results for consolidated tracking.

- Work with the finance team to reconcile and report hedging activities against broader company financials.

Exchange Operations:

- Ensure smooth operations across exchanges such as LME, MCX, and others, understanding their specific trading mechanisms, contracts, and settlement processes.

- Stay updated on regulatory changes and adapt strategies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.

Risk Management:

- Monitor hedging positions to ensure they align with the company's risk management framework.

- Assess and manage exposure across all base metals, implementing adjustments to minimize risks and maximize returns.

Collaboration & Process Optimization:

- Collaborate with trading, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment of hedging strategies with business goals.

- Continuously improve processes related to hedging, reporting, and coordination with brokers and exchanges.

- Work with technology teams to integrate tools for real-time position tracking and market analysis.

What Will Make You a Good Fit?

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

- Certifications such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent in financial risk management is a plus.

- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in hedging, commodity trading, or risk management, particularly in base metals (must).

- Proven expertise in working with LME, MCX, and other commodity exchanges.

- Deep understanding of commodity markets, including pricing dynamics, arbitrage opportunities, and global market trends.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in market analysis tools.

- Excellent working knowledge of hedging instruments (futures, options) and their application in risk management.

- Hands-on experience with broker coordination, trade execution, and compliance.

- Proficiency in creating cost sheets and comprehensive P&L reports.

- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and with external partners.

- Proficiency in Excel, market analysis software, and trading platforms.

- Familiarity with financial and trading systems used for hedging and position tracking
