iFOREST is an independent not-for-profit research and innovation organisation that was established in 2019 to identify, promote and scale up solutions for pressing environment-development challenges in India and other developing countries in Asia and Africa.

Key Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain websites and portals, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement responsive design principles to ensure compatibility across various devices and browsers.
  • Utilize data analysis software to extract, analyze, and interpret complex data sets, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using advanced programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or similar.
  • Perform code reviews, troubleshoot and debug issues, and optimize application performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our development processes.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in web development and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Strong experience with server-side programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails).
  • Expertise in data analysis software (e.g., SQL, R, MATLAB, SAS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Solid understanding of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts.
  • Certification in relevant technologies or methodologies.
