Java Core Developer (Backend)

About the Role :

We are looking for a passionate Java Core Backend Developer with a minimum of 5 years of strong hands-on experience in Core Java and Microservices. You will be working on next-generation commerce technology platforms similar to UPI for Commerce ONDC, directly collaborating with the founding team in a fast-paced startup culture. This is a rare opportunity to grow with a unicorn company, mentor upcoming talent, and shape scalable backend systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Brainstorm, architect, design, and develop backend functionalities in a Microservices architecture.

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Core Java.

- Work with RabbitMQ/Kafka, JSON APIs, and MongoDB to design scalable and distributed systems.

- Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and release management.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm solutions and whiteboard architectures before implementation.

- Provide production issue verification and support when required.

- Ensure commitment to deliverables, ownership, and accountability in all projects.

- Participate in mentoring junior engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.

Required Technical Skills :

- Core Java (All Versions) Minimum 5 Years

- Microservices Development 5 Years

- RabbitMQ 5 Years (Intermediate)

- Apache Kafka 4 Years (Advanced)

- JSON APIs 4 Years (Advanced)

- MongoDB 4 Years (Advanced)

Good to Have (Value Add Skills) :

- Experience in E-commerce/Commerce platforms.

- Exposure to Python, R, Big Data, and Analytics.

- Knowledge of Geo-distributed databases and experience working on Geo-based projects.

- Familiarity with release processes, development processes, and maintenance cycles.

- Prior startup exposure and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, agile environment.

- Strong problem-solving and brainstorming abilities with whiteboard sessions.

- Believes in deliverables, commitment, ownership, and teamwork.

- Self-starter, adaptable, and quick learner.

Compensation :

Salary + Early ESOPs (Employee Stock Options) Highly competitive, based on capability, experience, and interview performance.
