Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create concepts for Traction Motor, eAxle and Inverter/MCU for BEVs.
  • Define specifications and prepare component and system spec. books for Traction Motor, eAxle and Inverter/MCU.
  • Design and development as per Cost, Quality and Timeline targets for all projects and PoCs.
  • Do First principle design calculations for estimating Motor Power, Torque and Speed.
  • Selection of suitable transmission and defining gear-ratios.
  • Interfacing traction motor with transmission; Interfacing traction motor with Axle.
  • Interfacing traction motor with Inverter/MCU and TCU.
  • Hands-on experience in traction motor at stator, rotor level.
  • Very good understanding of all eComponents of BEV and interfaces and communication protocols.
  • Ensure integration of HW/SW during development.
  • Define testing and release from system to Hardware-in-Loop.

Good understanding of Voltage, Current, Capacity, Energy, etc.

Basic understanding of traction motor cooling.

Prepare / check drawings and setup DMU.

Prepare and review design, FMEA and DVP.

Resolve issues during proto-build, testing, development, production and field issues with root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions, through problem-solving techniques.

Facilitate variant reduction and cost reduction by generating ideas and ensure implementation.

Generate innovative ideas of filing patents and implement in production.

Co-ordination with cross-functional teams.

Prepare effective presentations to ensure clear information / communication to management and peers.


Technical Skill Set Required

Excellent technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Traction Motor, Inverter/MCU, TCU, Transmission, Axle.

Deep understanding and experience of testing at component, system and vehicle-level.

Hands-on experience in DFMEA, DVP and 8D.

Good experience in AIS standards, safety standards and other standards across the globe.

Basic understanding of Functional Safety (ISO26262).

Expertise in UG-NX with hands-on experience in 3D and 2D along with GD&T.

Understanding of Commercial Vehicle Development process.

Hands-on experience in Electric Vehicle.


Soft Skills Required

Good communication, interpersonal and co-ordination skills.

Very good skill in explaining technical concepts in power-point presentations.

Good team-player.

Curious to learn and passionate to achieve.

Extremely customer focused.


Qualifications:

Mechanical / Mechatronics / Automobile Engineering / Equivalent Degree.


Professional Experience:

4-8 years of experience in relevant industry (Commercial vehicle industry preferable).
