Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled L2 Network Engineer with System Administration expertise to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting network operations while also handling system administration tasks for servers, storage, and related infrastructure. This role requires a balance of networking knowledge and system admin experience to ensure high availability, security, and performance of enterprise IT systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Engineering
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support Layer 2 (switching) and Layer 3 (routing) network infrastructure.
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Handle VLANs, trunking, STP, port security, and link aggregation.
  • Assist in escalated issues from L1 engineers and coordinate with vendors if required.
  • Perform periodic network health checks, patching, and firmware upgrades.
  • Document network topologies, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
System Administration
  • Administer Windows/Mac systems Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
  • Perform user account management, access control, and security policy enforcement.
  • Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V/KVM) and cloud-based environments.
  • Monitor server performance, storage, and backups, ensuring business continuity.
  • Apply OS patches, updates, and security hardening.
  • Support troubleshooting of applications and system-level issues escalated from L1.
Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with L1 engineers, providing guidance and training where needed.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and deployments.
  • Create and maintain documentation for both network and system processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in networking and system administration roles.
  • Strong understanding of L2/L3 networking (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, QoS).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper/HP/Aruba switches and routers.
  • Proficiency in Windows/Mac system administration.
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix, etc.).
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus.
