THE ROLE

At Hunger Inc. Hospitality, we’re looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Associate who’s not just passionate about numbers, but about turning them into actionable insights that drive business decisions. In this cross-functional role, you will be the backbone of data-driven decision-making across our brands, starting with Bombay Sweet Shop. You’ll manage everything from business and campaign forecasting to diving deep into data analytics across products and distribution channels, helping the leadership team make informed, strategic decisions that maximize profitability.

This role reports directly to the Director of Finance and is based out of our Head Office in Lal Baug, Mumbai, with occasional travel to our brand locations as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

You live and breathe numbers, but you also know how to communicate them in a way that’s clear, insightful, and impactful. You’re strategic, analytical, and able to see the bigger picture while staying detail-oriented. You understand the importance of forecasting, financial performance tracking, and analyzing trends that drive business growth. You’re a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to collaborate across teams.

You have 3-6 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or a similar role, ideally in a high-growth, startup-like environment. You are comfortable using data to influence business decisions, and you’re excited about contributing to the growth of some of India’s most loved food brands.

YOUR TEAM

You’ll work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, marketing, and data analysts, to align goals, track performance, and optimize strategies. This collaborative environment will allow you to shape financial strategies that directly impact the success of our brands.

WHO YOU WILL REPORT TO

You will report to the Director of Finance, who will guide you in shaping the financial strategy and supporting your growth in the role.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Financial Analysis & Performance Tracking: Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, including revenue, expenses, and profitability. Use insights to guide key business decisions and ensure the company stays on track to meet its financial goals.
  • Variance & KPI Analysis: Identify variances between actual financial results and projections. Track and analyze KPIs across all business segments, providing senior management with insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting trends, key metrics, and areas requiring attention.
  • Customer Data & Analytics: Lead the analysis of customer data to optimize distribution channels and products. Work closely with the data analytics team to improve operational efficiency and product offerings.
  • New Expansion Channels: Collaborate with business leaders to explore and plan new business opportunities, including new outlets or distribution channels, to support brand growth.

SKILLS

  • Analytical & Strategic Thinker: You have a strong analytical mindset and can think strategically, translating data into business opportunities.
  • Financial Expertise: You have experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with a solid understanding of key financial metrics and KPIs.
  • Collaborative: You’re a team player who works seamlessly with cross-functional teams to align business goals and drive results.
  • Communication: You can clearly articulate complex financial insights to non-financial stakeholders in a way that’s understandable and actionable.
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: You’re meticulous, able to manage multiple projects and timelines with ease, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Experience: You have 3-6 years of experience in a financial planning and analysis role, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

  • Impact: Play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and performance of some of India’s most beloved food brands.
  • Growth Opportunities: At Hunger Inc., we’re committed to nurturing talent and providing growth opportunities as you develop your career in a dynamic and evolving company.
  • Collaborative Environment: Join a supportive, cross-functional team that values your contributions and works together to achieve common goals.
