This model supports real-time problem-solving, stronger relationships, and the kind of precision that drives great outcomes.Job DescriptionYour CareerPalo Alto Networks NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Senior Staff Software Engineer in Test engineer with experience in designing and developing infrastructure tools and scripts.You will be part of a world-class software test engineering team that focuses on development of infrastructures for Regression test authoring and execution of various ground-breaking technologies in the Layer 2-7 domain.You will work with a multi-functional team of engineers solving interesting problems in the area of multi-product, customer focused end to end Regression testing..We are looking for highly motivated engineers who have intellectual curiosity, love the challenge of solving complex problems with variable factors and creativity in obtaining solutions.We are looking for leaders who take ownership of their areas of focus and who are driven to pursue problems at every level.Collaboration is at the heart of our culture and we need engineers who can communicate at a high level and work well with multi-functional teams towards achieving a common goal.Your ImpactWork in a small and fast paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver most impactful resultsWork with different development and quality assurances groups to achieve the best qualitySuggest and implement improvements to the Regression testing processInterview, mentor and coach new team membersDesign and develop scripts and tools in Python for automated regression testing executionConsult with developers, Test Engineering, and IT engineers to define regression testing requirementsDesign and develop dashboards and tooling in PythonDesign ofautomation infrastructure testbeds and toolsQualificationsYour Experience5+ years of experience in a test positionEducation: Degree in Computer Science or EngineeringDetailed understanding of modern network design, implementation, and troubleshootingExperience testing network security products, preferably with firewalls and intrusion prevention.L3 network testing experience with knowledge of most common switching and routing protocols. Knowledge of L4-L7 network layers.Experience with Python and similar scripting language, and strong ability to develop, maintain, and monitor automated processes and experience in Regression Testingis must.Experience with testing public Cloud and virtualization environments is plusGood knowledge of networking and ability to work with open source traffic generators and toolsExperience with commercial and non-commercial networking test equipment (e.g. Avalanche, IXIA, SPIRENT) is essentialExcellent written and verbal communication skills are a mustPast experience with technical presentations, customer interfacing, and requirements interpretation is highly desirableAdditional InformationThe TeamOur engineering team is at the core of our products – connected directly to the mission of preventing cyberattacks.
