That's our story. Make it your story.Your role and responsibilitiesYou will be working as SQA Specialist and will involve some or all the activities mentioned in the job description. (Please note that the list is only indicative not exhaustive). The engineer must travel / visit Suppliers in Bengaluru & suppliers across India, for Problem Solving, technical discussions, trials, Process /Assessment /Channel Partner Audits, Improvement Projectsand support wherever necessary.The stay outside could depend on the Criticality of the project. It could be for 2-3 days at initial stages could extend. He will not resist the same.The work model for the role is: #Li-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the ABB India, Smart Power, as a Supplier Quality Control Specialist for Nelamangala – Bangalore Location.You will be mainly accountable for: Supplier Quality Management – Establish a “Zero Defect” culture across the supply base by increasing supplier quality awareness and supporting incoming quality control activities. Audit & Continuous Improvement – Plan and conduct supplier audits, perform root cause analyses, and implement improvement initiatives focused on process standardization and waste elimination. Collaboration & Qualification – Work with sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing teams for new supplier assessments, part qualifications (PPAP), and to resolve quality or delivery barriers. Performance Evaluation – Establish structured systems for supplier performance tracking, provide feedback through periodic evaluations, and promote continuous improvement to meet ABB standards.Qualifications for the role: Educational Qualification – B.E/B. Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Experience – Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quality control and manufacturing environments. Quality Tools Skills – Detailed understanding of SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPAP, CAPA/8D, and demonstrated ability to apply them effectively for quality control and problem-solving. Lean & Six Sigma – Proficient in Statistical Process Control with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Manufacturing Knowledge – Well-versed in assembly processes, SPMs (Special Purpose Machines), and Lean manufacturing practices. Systems & Standards – Conversant with SAP and ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
