Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced NetLogo Simulation Expert to design, implement, and analyze simulation models for various complex systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in agent-based modeling (ABM) and a deep understanding of how to use NetLogo for both academic and practical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement agent-based models (ABM) using NetLogo for simulation projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate real-world systems into simulation models.
• Design and run simulation experiments to test hypotheses and explore potential solutions.
• Analyze and interpret simulation results, producing clear, actionable insights.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored simulation models.
• Optimize simulation models for performance and scalability.
• Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations for project deliverables.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in simulation and agent-based modeling.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience with NetLogo and agent-based modeling (3+ years preferred).
• Strong understanding of complex systems, emergent behavior, and multi-agent simulations.
• Experience designing and conducting simulation experiments to solve real-world problems.
• Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting simulation outputs to drive decision-making.
• Familiarity with integrating NetLogo models with other software tools and technologies.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with other simulation platforms like AnyLogic, SimPy, or Repast.
• Background in computational social science, economics, or environmental modeling.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python).
• Knowledge of optimization and machine learning techniques.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
