We are seeking a Senior Apigee Automation Developer with a proven track record in automation and scripting, particularly with expertise in Python and Node.js. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated solutions for API management using the Apigee platform. Your extensive experience in automation and scripting, combined with your proficiency in Python and Node.js, will drive the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our API infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Automation Strategy : Develop and execute a comprehensive automation strategy for API management tasks using Apigee. Design automation frameworks, scripts, and tools to streamline deployment, configuration, monitoring, and testing processes.

- Scripting Development : Leverage your expertise in Python and Node.js to develop robust automation scripts for API -provisioning, configuration management, and data manipulation tasks. Ensure scripts are scalable, maintainable, and well-documented.


- API Lifecycle Automation : Implement automation solutions to support the entire API lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, versioning, and retirement. Automate repetitive tasks to accelerate time-to-market and improve operational efficiency.

- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) : Integrate Apigee with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) to automate build, test, and deployment processes for APIs and API proxies. Implement automated testing frameworks for API validation.


- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Utilize infrastructure as code principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to automate the provisioning and configuration of Apigee environments. Ensure consistency and scalability across different environments.

- Monitoring and Alerting Automation : Develop automation solutions for monitoring API performance, health, and usage metrics. Implement proactive alerting mechanisms to identify and resolve issues before they impact system availability or performance.


- Security Automation : Implement automated security controls and best practices in API management, including authentication, authorization, and encryption. Integrate security scanning tools into the automation pipeline to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.


- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing : Create comprehensive documentation for automation scripts, tools, and processes. Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, best practices, and automation techniques to improve team productivity and effectiveness.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 6+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on API management and automation.


- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Node.js.


- Extensive hands-on experience with the Apigee platform, including API proxy development, policy configuration, and management.


- Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.


- Solid understanding of DevOps principles, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts.


- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).


- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications :

- Apigee certification(s) such as Apigee Certified Engineer or Apigee Certified Architect.

- Experience with API security standards and protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS).


- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.


- Familiarity with performance testing and optimization techniques.


- Previous experience in mentoring junior team members and leading automation initiatives.
