PHARMACEUTICAL EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY

The VP of Purchase will oversee and manage the procurement functions of

the organization, focusing on sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring high-

quality EP/USP/BP/IP etc .grade materials and other critical resources. This

role will be instrumental in ensuring uninterrupted operations and

adherence to international regulatory standards while optimizing costs and

building strategic supplier relationships.

Procurement Strategy

 Develop and execute a comprehensive purchase strategy aligned

with the company’s operational and financial objectives.

 Ensure the procurement of DMF grade compliant API materials to

meet regulatory and quality requirements.

Supplier Management

 Identify and onboard reliable suppliers with necessary

certifications.

 Establish long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers to secure

cost-effective and high-quality raw materials.

 Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with

regulatory and company standards.

Cost Optimization

 Negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings while maintaining

quality standards.

 Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to strategize

procurement decisions.

Operational Excellence

 Oversee day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring timely

availability of materials to avoid production delays.

 Implement robust systems for inventory management and demand

forecasting.

Compliance and Risk Management

 Ensure all procurement activities adhere to local and internationalregulatory standards, including EU GMP guidelines.

 Develop risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain

disruptions.

Leadership and Team Development

 Build and lead a high-performing procurement team with expertise

in API sourcing and regulatory requirements.

 Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team

capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 Work closely with production and R&D teams to understand

material requirements and specifications.

 Coordinate with QA and regulatory teams to ensure procurement

processes align with compliance needs.

Experience:

o Minimum 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical

procurement, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.

o Proven track record in sourcing various grades of compliant

API, Excipients and other materials.

Industry Knowledge:

o Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain

and regulatory frameworks, specially EU GMP and ICH

guidelines.

o Familiarity with supplier markets for APIs and excipients.

Leadership:

o Experience in managing large procurement teams and

multi-stakeholder negotiations.

From Mid-Size Companies (up to Rs 5,000cr in Revenue)

Avoid MNCs and large Indian Companies

The candidate needs to be hands on, roll up sleeves and work to bring

business and increase sales in the region
