Role Summary

As a Senior Project Controller – Pricing Specialist, you will be part of the AUiCRC PMO team in WSP India and operate out of our Noida / Bengaluru office. This is a critical role, to be a technical specialist in all areas of pricing and financial modelling necessary to support major project bids. This role will work closely with and support the Australian based Commercial Managers and Commercial Executives who would be directly supporting the commercial aspects on a range of major infrastructure projects across Rails, Airports, Roads, other Civil and Mining domains.

Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Support the Pre-contract Commercial Manager/Executive, pursuit and delivery teams where required.
  • Support others in facilitating bid reviews and quality audits to minimise business risk and maximise performance.
  • Prepare bid pricing sheets, develop and maintain benchmarking information to support financial models, develop rate cards, provide pricing trends.
  • Develop the WBS and deliverables in conjunction with delivery teams for bids.
  • Support with responding to third party auditors when required.
  • Support the Pre-contract Commercial Team with preparation of reports, legal documents and other correspondence and reports as required,
  • Adhere to and advocate compliance to WSP‘s corporate governance, business system, quality and risk management requirements.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve the Commercial Team’s processes,
  • Provide general commercial support to the Commercial Pre-Contract Team as required.
  • Work with WSP broader business to have accurate cost and price information.
  • Develop, expand and maintain standard pricing templates for contracts and key clients.
  • Manage the historical pricing and benchmarking databases.
  • Training to relevant internal commercial and bid teams where relevant.
  • Provide monthly summary reports and commercial positions to management inclusive of capturing material departures from the standardised model and pricing in an auditable form.

Other responsibilities

  • Should be able to overlap responsibilities between Pricing Specialist and Project Controller role for better career growth.

Key Competencies / Skills

  • Excellent excel skills – advanced level. VBA Macros skills will be preferred.
  • Skills in Primavera/Microsoft Project, Power BI and other Planning, Control and Reporting/Dashboarding software will be preferred.
  • Well versed with project management, risk management and EVM language and terminologies.
  • Problem solver, adept at early identification and mitigation with commercial awareness and capable of managing own work with minimum or no supervision; ability to think out of the box and propose innovative solutions and explore technology/digital enablement.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and demonstrated experience in working with international planning and project controls teams.
  • Exposure to overseas Transportation Industry projects in Roads, Rails, Airport, large Civil Infrastructure and Mining projects.
  • Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines and in changing environments; Ability to lead a small team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Post graduation in project management preferred.
  • Expertise in Advanced Excel is mandatory. Primavera / MS Projects, Power Bi (statistical analysis and coding), Power Apps skills will be preferred.
  • PMP, or Prince 2 certification.
  • Membership of professional organisations like PMI, RICS, APM etc. preferred.
  • Experience in the range of 8-12 years.
