Mandatory Skillset: Python,Pandas,SQL,PL/SQL and SQL Tuning Experience Range: 5-7 Years Location: Banglore Position Purpose The person will be a key member of the Market Abuse IT team that is tasked to deliver multiple complex projects in the Trade Surveillance area. This role is within the Conduct, Control and Surveillance IT team. The team utilizes SONATA 2.0 infrastructure and technology to develop enhance & maintain Compliance Surveillance Models for BNP Paribas. The candidate will collaborate with the Compliance & Financial Security teams and be a “go to” for technical execution of the product. The candidate is responsible to partner with all the functional and project leads in designing the solution and taking ownership of the execution and delivery. The candidate will recommend alternative solutions, design, integrate, and implement the right enterprise solutions for Compliance. Responsibilities Direct Responsibilities Work independently in application development / support / enhancements / bug-fixing. Utilize understanding of design principles in creating custom software solutions or modifying packages solutions Be a part of IT team to develop and contribute to initiatives that transform and modernize the capabilities and services of the Compliance and Trade Compliance function. Work with Compliance to identify appropriate models to cover various scenarios and validate existing setup. Ensure adherence to Bank and information systems policies and procedures, security measures and audit standards. Mentor junior team members on the technology & processes front. Share knowledge and skills with others within the team from time to time. Prepare high quality test plans and conduct the tests at Unit, Regression, Integration, Code reviews. Ensuring that the project and organization standards are followed during various phases of software development life cycle and day to day development work. Contributing Responsibilities Contribute towards knowledge sharing initiatives and upskilling of other team members. Contribute to development/Writing of Technical Specifications document, Test plan, and Test Cases Technical & Behavioral Competencies Excellent Knowledge & Understanding of Python, Pandas and Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL. Good Knowledge & Understanding of data modelling. Flair for learning new tools & technology. 4-6 years of experience in Banking IT, with a good understanding of the Corporate and Institutional Banking activity. Knowledge of Capital Markets an asset. Good knowledge and understanding of Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting. Good knowledge in systems, application frameworks, database optimization, and experience being responsible for the success of software development projects. Proven record interpreting and fulfilling requirements by developing high performing, scalable and maintainable solutions with multiple technologies. Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies and best practices including Waterfall Process, Agile methodologies, deployment automation, code reviews, and test-driven development. Strong coordination and organizational skills Excellent communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities. Being aware of new technologies and frameworks. Experience and knowledge of Python language features like basic data types, functions with keywords args, default args, variable length args. Experience in using Python database API with any relational database like Oracle/SQL Server using pure Python or native database driver. Experience in using built in collection types [for example: sequence types, dict, sets]. Experience in using text manipulation facilities like regex, string methods from the standard library. Experience in reading and manipulating various file types like XML [using standard module like Element Tree], JSON, CSV. Experience in using file and directory manipulation modules like paths, globs from the standard library. Knowledge of widely used libraries in data science like NumPy, Pandas is a must. Visualization is a good to have but not on the mandatory path. Knowledge and Experience in using collections from the collections module will be good to have though not mandatory. Familiarity with using context managers. Familiarity with date manipulation using modules like datetime. Knowledge of Generators will be good to have though not mandatory. Familiarity with Object Oriented Python and magic methods.
