JOB Description:

The Physical Design Manager leads a team responsible for the physical implementation of ASICs or SoCs, from RTL to GDSII. This role demands deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful tapeouts of high-performance semiconductor chips.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 6–10 physical design engineers.
  • Project Management: Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Design Execution:
  • Drive end-to-end physical design flow: synthesis, floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and signoff.
  • Ensure timing closure, power optimization, and physical verification (DRC/LVS).
  • Tool Expertise: Use EDA tools like Synopsys ICC2, Fusion Compiler, PrimeTime, ICV, and Cadence Innovus.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with front-end design, layout, characterization, and test chip teams.
  • Quality Assurance: Validate P&R views and design support files using automated and manual QA checks.
  • Customer Support: Assist field teams with customer queries and feedback.
