Location : Chennai (Shollinganallur)

Work Model : Hybrid (10-12 days onsite/month)

Experience : 5 - 8 Years

About the Role :

As a Senior SRE, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-based applications and infrastructure. You'll work closely with development and operations teams to implement SRE best practices, automate processes, and proactively identify and resolve potential issues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys tackling complex challenges, optimizing systems, and contributing to a culture of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

- System Reliability & Performance : Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient systems. Proactively monitor system health, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve performance and stability.

- Automation : Develop and implement automation for various operational tasks, including deployment, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.

- Troubleshooting & Incident Management : Lead efforts in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex technical issues and incidents in a timely manner. Participate in on-call rotations as required.

- SRE Best Practices : Advocate for and implement SRE principles, including error budgets, blameless post-mortems, and continuous improvement.

- Collaboration : Work closely with development teams to ensure new features and services are designed with reliability and operational efficiency in mind.

- Tooling & Infrastructure : Contribute to the selection, implementation, and maintenance of SRE-related tools and infrastructure.

- Mentorship : Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to foster a strong SRE culture.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java is essential.

- Experience with C/C++, Ruby, or JavaScript (J2EE) is a plus.

- Datastores : Hands-on experience with NoSQL and SQL databases.

- Frameworks & APIs : Solid understanding of Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.

- Cloud Platforms : Demonstrated experience with one or more major Cloud Platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.

- Containerization & Orchestration : Expertise with Docker and Kubernetes.

APM & Monitoring Tools : Extensive experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and various monitoring tools, including :

- Dynatrace

- New Relic

- ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

- Splunk

- Prometheus

- Sensu, Nagios, Kafka, DataDog, PagerDuty (experience with a combination of these is highly valued)

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- A strong commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends.
