Job DescriptionRole: Backup Administrator L1Location: Navi MumbaiRole SummaryThe Backup Administrator L1 is responsible for the daily operational execution, monitoring, and first-level incident support for the enterprise backup infrastructure. This role ensures the successful completion of backup jobs and handles basic restoration requests.Key Responsibilities:- Monitoring & Reporting: - Execute Daily backup Job monitoring and update the Daily Checklist accurately. - Acknowledge and perform initial triage on alerts related to backup failures. - Client & Job Management: - Assist with NetBackup client installation and basic backup commissioning tasks. - Perform preparation steps for routine backup types, including Normal File system and VM snapshot backup. - Execute the Manual SAR cycle operation as required. - Restoration & Recovery: - Fulfill and execute standard Data Restoration Requests (Network Backup). - Perform basic VM Snapshot Restoration tasks. - Storage Operations: - Assist with basic storage tasks related to backup copies, including FS Mounting/Unmounting and DG Import/Deport for BCV (Business Continuance Volume) based backups.Required Skills & Qualifications:- Backup Tool Knowledge: - Basic understanding of backup tools, specifically Veritas NetBackup. - Foundational understanding of the backup process flow and its components (daemons). - System Fundamentals: - Basic knowledge of Server Hardware, Operating Systems (OS), and their configuration files. - Basic knowledge of networking concepts related to backup communication ( - General Skills: - Detail-oriented approach for accurate checklist maintenance and reporting. - Strong communication skills for escalating unresolved issues clearly.
