COHESITY BACKUP SOLUTION Consultant

Job Description:

  • It is a direct customer facing lead consultant role. Primary responsibility is to understand each request from the Customer and provide corresponding reports, data and information from the Cohesity cluster systems. A candidate with experience with PowerBI for reporting would be preferred.
  • Review delivery performance with the customer weekly and monthly.
  • The role involves indirect management of a 24x7 support team managing daily operations and Cohesity systems. The Lead will understand evolving requirements and work closely with the Customer Engineering and Cohesity Vendor Engineering teams on the issues. He will also provide daily updates to the Customer and HCL Management.
  • NetBackup and Arcserve knowledge is secondary but not mandatory. Perform tasks related to system usage monitoring, configuration, upgrade, addition new nodes to cluster, Data center deployment, resolve compliance issues and audit findings to work together with Customer and vendor.


Responsibilities:

  • Cohesity Backup System Administration (Cluster administration).
  • Prefer but not mandate Veritas NetBackup and Arcserve Backup Administration
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for the Cohesity infrastructure.
  • Produce regular reports for management viz. Capacity planning, consolidation, automated reporting, customization, documentation and other tasks and drive continuous improvements to add value.
  • Work in close coordination with the DC, other platform and support teams.
  • Coordinate with the principal vendor in regards to incidents and support.
  • Well versed in ITSM tools and processes.
  • Maintain relationships with customers / business units with technical knowledge and solutions.


Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in IT infrastructure management services
  • Must have 2-3 years of Cohesity cluster storage utilization reporting experience.
  • Experienced in working with NAS, SAN, DB, Physical, Virtual and OS teams on standard and out of the box backup configuration and migration to Cohesity.
  • Experience handling storage infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM tools and processes.
  • Experience working on infrastructure projects.
  • Basic knowledge of IP network, Wan, Lan based data backup design and configuration.
  • A working knowledge of storage switches, Linux and Windows systems administration. ▪ File system and database familiarity.


Mandatory skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral.
  • Client relationship management.
  • Experience managing medium to large scale technical projects.
  • Ability to work hands-on with tools and processes.
  • Ability to understand the technical components of infrastructure.
  • Willing to work on a 24x7 model.
