Role : Friction Material Engineer (AM/Manager)

Position Category : Research and Development

Work Experience : 3 years minimum

Education Requirement : M.Tech/M.E in Materials/Mechanical/Manufacturing

Location : Suprajit Technology Centre - Bengaluru


Roles and responsibilities:

Collaborate with product cross-functional teams to understand milestones, identify and define product processes and technical requirements, and establish timelines to develop friction products.

Knowledge of friction raw materials, properties, and test standards.

Hands-on experience in friction raw material testing, formulations, composite preparation, testing, and validation as per industrial standards.

New friction product development and introduction through applicable statutory regulatory requirements.

Coordination with the ER&D department for dyno and vehicle validation.

Knowledge on coating techniques for brake rotors to reduce PM emissions.

Knowledge on adhesive development for brake pads and brake shoes

Knowledge of die casting processes and materials

Responsible for new raw material source identification, evaluation, and approval.

Collaboration with vendors for tools, fixtures, and equipment

Knowledge on brake noise mitigation techniques, data acquisition, and analysis.

Liaise with the execution team during the new product development, testing, and mass production handover stages.

Requirements and Skills:

Tech/M.E. in Engineering—Material/Mechanical/Manufacturing

3+ years of industrial/research experience in friction products

Knowledge of raw materials and brake rotor coating techniques will be an added advantage.

Understanding of the entire PLM cycle, which includes product design, development, validation, and part qualification.

Knowledge of CAD software’s will be an added advantage.

Experienced in communicating and presenting at different organizational levels.

Good work planning and prioritization skills
