Job Title: (Senior) Patent Professional/Patent Agent

Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Patent Professional to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer science, electronics, telecommunications, information science, or related fields and an ability to understand complex and emerging technologies. Your primary responsibilities will be patent drafting, prosecution, and conducting patent and non-patent literature searches. Depending on competence and skills, you may be contributing to projects in other practice areas like IP Due Diligence and providing litigation support through research and analysis. This role primarily focuses on drafting and prosecuting patents for the US and EU jurisdictions.

 

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with US, EU, and UK patent attorneys, with initial training and mentorship provided. We are looking for someone who can quickly learn and transition into an independent role, with the potential to build and lead a team as the organization grows.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Patent Drafting and Prosecution:

 - Draft high-quality patent applications in compliance with India, the US, and EU patent laws.

 - Manage the patent prosecution process, including responding to office actions and coordinating with patent offices.

 

- Research and Analysis:

 - Conducted comprehensive patent searches and analyzed prior art.

 - Provide litigation support through in-depth research and analysis of relevant case laws.

 

- Collaboration:

 - Work closely with clients to understand technical inventions and translate them into patentable concepts.

 - Collaborate with US, EU, and UK patent attorneys on various projects.

 

- Communication:

 - Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including clients and senior management.

 - Prepare clear and articulate written documents and reports.

 

- Team Development:

 - Mentor and guide junior team members.

 - Contribute to building a strong patent team within the organization.

 

- Compliance and Knowledge:

 - Stay updated on Indian and international IP laws and regulations.

 - Ensure all activities comply with relevant legal standards and company policies.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

Education:

 - Bachelor's or Master's degree - Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Information Science, or a related field.

 

Experience:

 - Proven experience of at least 3+ years in patent drafting and prosecution, preferably with exposure to US and EU patent jurisdictions.

 - Experience in high-tech domains such as AI, 5G, or Blockchain is highly desirable.

 

Additional Qualification:

 - Qualification as an Indian Patent Agent is a plus.

 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 - Ability to write clearly and articulately.

 - Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

 - Good understanding of Indian and international IP laws.

 - Proficiency in conducting patent searches and using relevant tools.

Additional Information:

 

- Location: The position is based in Bangalore, India. Initially, it will be on-site with the possibility of partial/full remote work based on business needs.
