Company DescriptionThis is a full-time office-based position now open with VINTON ENGINEERING, an acknowledged market leader in Architectural Metal Works (AMW) projects and custom solutions, attached to its Head Office at South Chittoor, Ernakulam District, Kerala.Role DescriptionThe Metal Works Draughtsman is responsible for translating architectural and engineering design concepts into detailed shop drawings and installation plans for a variety of metal components such as steel structures, railings, staircases, canopies, ornamental facades, doors, windows and structural supports. This role requires precision, a strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, and software expertise to ensure that all finished products are accurate, constructible, and aesthetically aligned with the overall project design.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce comprehensive shop drawings, erection drawings, bills of material (BOM) and cutting lists, laser/machine drawings for custom metal fabrication (e.g., steel, aluminium, stainless steel).Ensure all drawings reflect precise dimensions, material specifications, weld symbols, finishes, and connection details.Utilize 3D modelling and 2D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar) to depict complex assemblies accurately.Review architectural drawings, specifications, and Structural Engineer notes to verify the feasibility and accuracy of the metal works design.Work directly with the Team Lead and Fabricators to resolve technical queries and detail issues through the design and construction phases.Incorporate site-verified dimensions and design revisions efficiently and accurately.Prepare and submit drawing packages for review and approval by architects, engineers and clients.Verify the accuracy of dimensions and tolerances to minimize errors, waste and re-work in the Fabrication Shop.Required Qualifications and Skill-setsa) Education : Diploma or ITI in Architectural, Mechanical or Civil Draughtsmanshipb) Experience : 1-5 years of proven experience as a DRAUGHTSMANc) Technical Skills : Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, SolidWorksHow to applyPlease fill up the prescribed form using the link below, attach your last updated CV from your system drive and send.https://vinton.frappe.cloud/jobs/vinton_engineering/draughtsmanQualificationsProficiency in CAD software and 2D/3D drawing toolsStrong technical drawing and blueprint preparation skillsKnowledge of engineering and architectural design principlesAttention to detail, spatial awareness, and technical precisionExcellent organizational and documentation skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentBachelor’s degree or diploma in drafting, engineering, architecture, or related fieldPrior experience in draughtsmanship or similar field is advantageous
