Job description

The Sales Associate will be responsible for promoting and selling lab-grown diamonds and fine jewelry to customers. This role involves educating clients about the benefits of lab-grown diamonds, providing exceptional customer service, and meeting sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and innovative jewelry trends, with a strong desire to build relationships and grow within the business.


Key Responsibilities:


Customer Engagement:


  • Greet customers and create a welcoming atmosphere at the store.
  • Understand the clients needs, preferences, and budget to offer tailored recommendations.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of lab-grown diamonds vs. mined diamonds, including sustainability, ethical sourcing, and price differences.


Product Sales:


  • Present and demonstrate a wide range of lab-grown diamonds and fine jewelry products, highlighting their unique qualities and craftsmanship.
  • Meet or exceed individual and store sales targets.
  • Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.


Product Knowledge:


  • Maintain a deep understanding of lab-grown diamonds (including 4 Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat) and how they compare to natural diamonds.
  • Stay informed about new collections, industry trends, and technological advancements in the production of lab-grown diamonds.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge on jewelry designs, gemstones, and precious metals.


Customer Service:


  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and special requests in a timely manner.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers, encouraging repeat business and referrals.
  • Handle any customer complaints or issues with professionalism and in alignment with company policies.


Sales Process & Transactions:


  • Assist customers in the full sales process, from product selection to finalizing the purchase.
  • Accurately process transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring all details are correct.
  • Support customers with any post-sale services, such as resizing, repairs, and cleaning.


Store Maintenance:


  • Ensure that the sales floor, display cases, and product presentations are kept clean, organized, and attractive.
  • Assist in inventory management, including restocking products and performing regular stock counts.
  • Maintain proper labeling and pricing of all items.


Promotions & Events:


  • Participate in special promotions, marketing events, and product launches.
  • Assist in creating visual merchandising displays that align with brand standards and engage customers.
  • Stay up-to-date with current sales and promotional campaigns to inform and guide customers.


Team Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to achieve store goals and objectives.
  • Contribute ideas for improving sales performance and customer engagement.
  • Attend training sessions on new products, sales techniques, and customer service.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in gemology or jewelry sales is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the jewelry or luxury goods sector (lab-grown diamond experience is highly desirable).
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
