Overview :

The Maria/MySQL Database Developer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions to support the organization's data needs. They are responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of databases while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement database solutions using MariaDB and MySQL technologies.

- Optimize database performance through index tuning, query optimization, and database server configuration.

- Create and maintain database schemas, tables, and relationships to support application development.

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.

- Ensure data security and compliance with data protection regulations.

- Implement backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.

- Collaborate with software developers to integrate database functionality into applications.

- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues and outages.

- Conduct database capacity planning and scaling to support future growth.

- Document database design, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing.

- Stay updated with database trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of database systems.

- Participate in database architecture and design discussions to align with business objectives.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address data-related requirements.

- Provide technical support and guidance to junior database developers or team members.

- Perform database testing to identify and resolve issues before production deployment.

Required Qualifications.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Proven work experience as a MariaDB/MySQL Database Developer or a similar role.

- Proficiency in MariaDB and MySQL database management systems.

- Strong understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and database design principles.

- Expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

- Experience in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

- Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance regulations.

- Familiarity with database backup and recovery solutions.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Good understanding of software development methodologies and practices.

- Strong communication and documentation skills.
