Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Node.js Developer with at least 10 years of professional experience in software development, especially in backend JavaScript development using Node.js. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, a track record of designing and developing high-performance web applications, and a strong understanding of scalable architectures and microservices. You will be responsible for leading backend development efforts, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend services using Node.js.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance server-side applications.
  • Architect and implement microservices, APIs, and integration layers for large-scale web applications.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to define API structures and implement robust backend services that support user interfaces.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to coding best practices and design patterns.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to deploy and monitor applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Continuously analyze and optimize system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of backend systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, debug and optimize the application for improved performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends and suggest improvements to the development process.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a software developer, with a strong emphasis on Node.js.
  • Extensive experience with modern JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js frameworks like Express.js, Hapi.js, or Koa.js.
  • Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, RESTful API design, and web services.
  • Proven experience with database management (SQL and NoSQL), including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Redis.
  • Expertise in developing microservices architecture and working with distributed systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies and containerization, including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices in web development, including data encryption, authentication, and authorization.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and optimize code efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to mentor and guide teams in technical decision-making.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) is an advantage.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Scrum.
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and infrastructure as code.
