The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Skills & Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in VMware virtualization, SAN/converged platforms, and Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Proven expertise in VMware vCenter, ESXi, and Nutanix AHV administration.
• Strong knowledge of storage systems, RecoverPoint, UCS, and SAN environments.
• Hands-on experience in infrastructure planning, performance tuning, and RCA preparation.
• Experience in escalation handling, OEM coordination, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity, Availability).

Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Operations & Escalation Management
• Handle complex and critical issues escalated by L2 teams and ensure timely resolution of client escalations.
• Responsible for provisioning, new deployments, and resource expansion across converged and hyperconverged platforms.
• Ensure maximum uptime and performance of SAN storage, VMware, and Nutanix infrastructure.
• Perform troubleshooting and RCA for critical incidents to maintainhigh levels of availability.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
• Analyze monitoring results from RecoverPoint, UCS, vCenter, and storage systems.
• Recommend and implement changes to improve performance, security, and utilization.
• Plan and recommend infrastructure modifications or additional equipment to increase system capacities.
OEM & Stakeholder Coordination
• Coordinate with OEM vendors for hardware replacements, advanced troubleshooting, and code/firmware upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to plan and implement required changes.
• Raise RFCs (Request for Change) and ensure adherence to change management processes.
Operations & Compliance
• Manage day-to-day operations, including BMC ticket handling and closure within SLA.
• Ensure compliance with security and patch management policies.
• Provide inputs for capacity, availability, and DR planning.

Certifications (Preferred):
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – Mandatory.
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) / VMware Certified Architect (VCDX) – Preferred.
• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or higher – Advantageous.

Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lead critical incidents and mentor L1/L2 engineers.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive in identifying areas for service improvement and automation.
