Job description

  • As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, architecting, developing, testing and maintaining our data infrastructure and solutions. The data solution is extensively used by strategy teams to solve business problems using information derived from our data solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant data engineering experience of designing and building scalable data pipelines to extract, transform and load data from various data sources.
  • Maintenance of batch data pipelines, cloud functions and workflows in GCP and should be able to debug issues reported by business users on priority.
  • Be single point of contact for data transformation using Google Cloud services including BigQuery, executing Spark on Dataproc, pipeline graphs in Data Fusion and serverless data processing with Dataflow
  • Handling Change Requests from business end-to-end
  • Understanding requirements analysis, analyze and organize raw in most optimal fashion to assist ETL actions
  • Assist business users with appropriate views to help develop and maintain reports in Tableau
  • Ensuring documentation is kept up to date

Technical Skills:

  • Apache Airflow- (Celery) DAGs, K8 deployment
  • BigQuery, PostgreSQL
  • Strong knowledge of handling data operations on GCP, SQL, Python

Activities to be performed:

Technical Support:

  • Act as a point of contact for clients and provide technical assistance for data-related issues.
  • Respond to client queries and troubleshoot problems related to data operations.
  • Provide guidance on data operations best practices and help business units meet their specific

Incident Management:

• Support data-related incidents within the client's data pipelines.

  • Monitor data pipelines and systems to proactively identify issues.
  • Respond to incidents in a timely manner and minimize downtime, disruption.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend appropriate solutions.

Troubleshooting:

• Identify and troubleshoot data issues or errors independently with no supervision.

  • Analyze logs, perform data validation, and use debugging tools to pinpoint root causes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to efficiently resolve problems.

Data Quality Assurance:

• Recommend data quality checks, validation processes and data cleansing techniques.

  • Ensure data integrity and work towards resolving data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the business units to define and enforce data quality standards.

Client Communication and Relationship Management:

• Act as the primary point of contact for communication regarding data solution.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, provide status updates, and address concerns or questions.
