The candidate must be comfortable in directly liaising with various business teams within the company with an aim of gaining a deep understanding of the business vision and model in order to develop comprehensive tax solutions in support of the business, develop tax requirements that clearly articulate such solutions, and drive the implementation of the tax requirements. This position will primarily support business teams on Indian Direct / Indirect tax matters, and the ideal candidate will have experience evaluating issues specifically related to e-retail business in India.The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, detail-oriented and will possess the ability to work well with cross-functional teams. He/she will work towards ensuring that we have seamless direct tax compliance and support finance/business functions with timely information sharing. This role would also require working knowledge of various tools and systems in place. Equally important for success in this role is the ability to lead diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success in a variety of complex tasks as the business continues to grow.Summary of Responsibilities:- Review and manage the monthly Indirect Tax compliance. Validation of Tax rates and handling vendor queries.- Coordinating with Finance and external consultants in making sure compliance reporting is done before due dates.- Review of TDS deductions, payments and managing quarterly TDS and TCS compliances.- Providing end-to-end tax requirements for business projects and engaging with various teams on tax projects, such as the implementation of the new TDS section.- Working closely with internal tax teams for Tax Reporting, and external advisors, for review of tax impacts on business, tax compliance and forms agreement, and such other documentation.- Handling income tax assessment proceedings and preparation of responses to notices issued by the tax department.- Managing Tax General Ledgers and preparing reconciliations between books and tax returns- Assisting with managing relationships with external tax consultants and regulatory authorities on an ongoing basis.- Managing and coordinating tax audits and extending support to the preparation of financial statements with regard to taxes.Basic Qualifications:- Chartered Accountant / MBA with 4+ years of experience in the field of Indirect and Direct taxation.- Thorough technical knowledge of Indirect tax, Direct Tax, and Corporate Tax- General business awareness- Good Excel, presentation, and report writing skills- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills- Excellent Excel and general computer skills- Excellent drafting skills to be able to communicate complex tax ideas and analysis in plain English to business groups being supported- Work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.Max budget for the role- 27 LPA (ref:iimjobs.com)
