Role: Software Engineer

Responsibilities

As our Senior Software Engineer, you will build best-in-class features.

You will report directly to the founder and work with leadership to create a long-term technical vision

  • Own Foundational Features: You would be responsible for shipping major features that have an impact on customers. You will individually contribute and work with the team to reliably ship full features to customers.
  • Technical Leadership: While this is not a managerial role, you would be the most experienced engineer on the team so far. You will use your prior experience to help the team "see around corners", anticipating risks and future hurdles and proactively implementing solutions to ensure smooth product function.
  • Review and Debug Code: You will review code and help debug bugs. Every engineer does 1 day of tech support work each week to stay close to customers and experience problems first-hand.
  • Improve Performance and Reliability: Part of your work would involve optimising older code to improve performance.



Requirements

  • You have an extensive background in software engineering with at least 5 years of experience in a software engineer role (or equivalent) role at an early-stage SaaS company.
  • You have a proven technical pedigree for building and scaling complex architectures and ecosystems for high-growth companies.
  • Solid Typescript, and NodeJS skills (MERN primarily)
  • You have clear architectural skills around memory management, security, event management, distributed systems, and other key architectural concepts.
  • Significant experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services including , EC2, S3, Lambda, and SQS
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps
  • Familiarity with AI systems and a basic understanding of how training models work would be helpful in this role.
