Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer with 6-8 years of hands-on experience in Java development to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance, and robust backend systems.

You will play a crucial role in architecting solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical excellence within the team. This position requires a deep understanding of Java ecosystems, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and best practices in software development.

Key Responsibilities :

Design & Architecture :

- Lead the design and architecture of complex, highly scalable, and fault-tolerant backend systems using Java and related technologies.

- Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve system performance, reliability, and & Implementation :

- Develop, test, and deploy high-quality, efficient, and maintainable Java code for new features and enhancements.

- Implement robust APIs (RESTful, GraphQL) and integrate with various internal and external services.

- Ensure code quality through rigorous unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to coding standards.

- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to best practices.

System Optimization & Maintenance :

- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and responsiveness.

- Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing timely resolutions and root cause analysis.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

Leadership & Mentorship :

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

- Mentor team members on best practices, design patterns, and efficient coding techniques.

- Act as a subject matter expert for Java backend development within the team.

Collaboration & Communication:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product, Frontend) to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, demos).

Required Qualifications :

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience: 6-8 years of professional experience in backend software development with a strong focus on Java.

Technical Skills & Expertise :

Core Java :

- Deep understanding of Java 8+ features (Streams, Lambdas, Optional, etc.).

- Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, design patterns, and data structures.

- Proficiency in multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning in Java & Libraries :

- Extensive experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security).

- Hands-on experience with ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA).

Databases :

- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) including advanced SQL queries, schema design, and optimization.

- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) is a strong plus.

Microservices & APIs :

- Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices architectures.

- Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs. Experience with GraphQL is a plus.

Cloud Platforms :

- Solid experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Familiarity with cloud-native services (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, Lambda; Azure App Service, Cosmos DB; GCP Compute Engine, Cloud SQL).

Tools & Technologies :

- Version control systems (Git, Build tools (Maven, Gradle).

- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, GitHub Actions).

- Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

Testing :

- Proficiency in writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (JUnit, Mock
