Chennai, India Striker Games Full time

We are looking for a passionate Senior UE5 Game Development team lead to join our core game development team on our upcoming title under our stealth studio Striker Games (Unicorn Labs). This role requires a proficient background in Unreal Engine and C++, with a proven track record of leading development teams through the successful completion of high-quality games.


Responsibilities:


  • Review and understand the current codebase structure and highlight areas which needs to be rewritten, optimized and overhauled to provide a better experience for the players.
  • Collaborate with Game designers and ensure that the design systems for various modules like Quest systems, multiplayer and matchmaking lobbies/parties, Hangar ship upgrades, Rankings and XP systems, Marketplace systems, etc are well throughout and mechanics and technical solution scoping is done in a well planned manner inorder to reduce replanning and extensive delays during development phases.
  • Collaborate with other members of Design and Engineering to ensure multiplayer systems are responsive, accurate
  • Lead the development team through the game production lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration across art, backend, UI/UX, and game design teams.
  • Architect and oversee the implementation of game systems using Unreal Engine, focusing on high-performance and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with art directors and production teams to bring visual and interactive elements to life.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility and resource allocation for UI/UX implementations and backend system integration.
  • Mentor junior developers and encourage a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Act as a bridge between the game design team, including game economy analysts, to integrate gameplay mechanics and economic systems effectively.
  • Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient C++ code.
  • Drive the team towards achieving milestones and maintaining high standards in game development processes.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 4 years of professional game development experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Deep understanding of C++ and its application in large-scale projects.
  • (Optional) Experience working on multiplayer games.
  • (Optional) Good understanding of the problem of lag, prediction and correction.
  • Experience in leading interdisciplinary teams, including collaboration with art production, backend, UI/UX teams, and game designers.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong understanding of game architecture and design principles.
  • Previous experience in developing networked multiplayer games is preferred.
  • Understanding about Git & Agnoes
