Job Title : Application Developer COBOL Mainframe

Location : Hyderabad, India

Experience Required : Minimum 5 years

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer with strong expertise in COBOL Mainframe technologies to join our dynamic team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications that meet business requirements and enhance operational efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and configure mainframe applications based on business needs.

- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and support teams.

- Independently perform development tasks and evolve into a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

- Actively contribute to team discussions and problem-solving activities.

- Perform application troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards and implement best practices.

- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

- Participate in code reviews and documentation.

Must-Have Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL Mainframe programming.

- Proficiency in Job Control Language (JCL) and VSAM (File Management).

- Experience with mainframe job scheduling tools like ESP or equivalents.

- Familiarity with Xpeditor (or equivalent debugging tools).

- Good understanding of database management systems, data structures, and legacy systems.

- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies.

- Willingness to work in the 12 PM 10 PM IST shift.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with IMS DB.

- Familiarity with Endevor or other source code management tools.

- Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.

Qualifications :


- Minimum 5 years of experience in COBOL Mainframe development.


- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (full-time 15 years education).
