Job Description - Associate Head (PDE)Location: CoimbatoreExperience: 12 to 15 years Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and innovative Associate Head - Product Development & Engineering (PDE) to lead the design and development of new products, enhancements, and improvements to existing product lines. The role will require strong technical expertise in SolidWorks, deep knowledge of mechanical design and testing, and proven ability to manage multiple projects, from concept to production. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring products meet design, performance, testing, cost, and quality standards, while effectively collaborating across functions and reporting to the Head Design - RMCL India and Head - RMC Inc.Key Responsibilities:Product Design & Development:- Design new products, components, or improvements to existing products using SolidWorks software.- Maintain styling, structural integrity, and functional performance of new and current products.- Conduct strength analysis and evaluate material performance for new and existing projects.- Coordinate prototype production, component delivery, and ensure part fit-up accuracy.Project Management:- Prioritize projects, plan development cycles, and manage design schedules.- Ensure projects meet or exceed design, performance, testing, and cost objectives.- Oversee implementation of product designs into actual production.- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.Testing & Quality:- Develop and implement testing programs for new products.- Evaluate product performance and structural integrity, ensuring compliance with industry standards.- Review engineering change requests (ECRs) and release engineering change notices (ECNs), including prints and BOMs.Sourcing & Costing:- Research and source materials required for production.- Work with the purchase department for vendor approval.- Assist in product costing and execute cost-reduction initiatives.Documentation & Communication:- Maintain complete design department documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.- Provide regular updates on project status, including performance characteristics, specifications, and testing results.- Assist in creating and reviewing owner/parts manuals.Cross-functional Collaboration:- Provide technical support to customer service, dealers, and end-users.- Collaborate with marketing, purchasing, production, and service teams to ensure product Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.- 12-15 years of experience in product design and development, preferably in farm equipment, landscaping equipment, mowing, or agricultural implements.- Expertise in SolidWorks and strong knowledge of mechanical design principles.- Excellent communication and documentation skills.- Ability to work under pressure, organize, and prioritize multiple projects.- Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills.- Good record-keeping with ability to produce accurate documentation.- Experience working with international teams; candidates with previous US work experience or a valid US visa are to Head Design - RMCL India and Head - RMC salary with performance-based incentives.Exposure to global projects and international stakeholders.Career growth in a leadership track within PDE.
