Senior Cloud Database Engineer

We are looking to add an energetic and self-motivated Senior Cloud Database Engineer to our high-performing global team of Database Engineering Experts


This role involves architecting, implementing and supporting technological solutions with Oracle 19c on the Cloud platform for revenue-generating applications that drive the TR business. The candidate should have strong technical, excellent communication and collaboration, as well as time and project management skills.

Responsibilities :


- Working knowledge of Oracle 19c Autonomous Database on Cloud.


- Database provisioning automation on Oracle Cloud.


- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the functionality and performance of Oracle databases on Oracle Cloud.


- Develop and test HA and DR patterns in collaboration with Oracle to meet business availability needs.


- Maintain Oracle database parameter standards on the Cloud.


- Develop a standard backup policy to meet RTO and RPO.


- Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, separation of duties and encryption, to protect sensitive data.


- Establish proactive monitoring and alerting systems to identify and address issues in real time.


- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.


- Experience in migrating databases from legacy infrastructure to Oracle Cloud.


- Database Infra Automation using IAC and Python.


- Effective communication skills at all levels both spoken and written.


- Translate highly technical solutions/problems into clear language useful to audiences at varying technical levels.


- Prepare high-quality technical and non-technical documentation, and present it clearly to interested parties.


- Communicate professionally when interacting across staff levels and internal/external customers.


- Coach and mentor new joiners and junior database engineers - help them solve technical problems, and drive their learning path.


- Work collaboratively and effectively with Business, Engineering/Support teams, Vendors


- Be a role model to the rest of the members within and outside the team in technical, personal, behavioural and corporate citizenship.


- Participate and contribute to technology events/forums like Technify, Unconference, team meetings etc.


- Map business requirements to technical solutions.


- Proactively generate relevant ideas for new and improved operations or use of technology.


- Understand the impact of new projects and technical impacts on supported systems.



- Collaborate with peers, team leads and managers to deliver a reliable and efficient database :


- Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science, technical or engineering degree preferred.


- 6-8 years experience including providing support for mission-critical production databases, developing database Engineering Services for Oracle 19c Autonomous Database.


- Prior working experience using agile development framework and best practices.


- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines independently toward assigned goals with minimum supervision.


- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.


- Ability to make presentations to professional peers and work closely with management.


- Display the ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing situations.
