Position: Associate Director – Legal Compliance
Location: Chennai
Experience: 14–15 years
Notice Period: 30–45 days (only)
Shifts: Flexible as per business requirements
Team Size: Lead a team of 4–5 professionals, reporting into Director/Vice President
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance professional to drive transformation initiatives across sanctions, AML, financial crime risk, third-party risk management, and regulatory compliance. The role requires proven expertise in building compliance frameworks, leading digital transformation, and managing global stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance Training & Awareness
- Enhance global compliance training programs beyond standard modules.
- Identify additional training areas aligned with business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure training relevance and effectiveness.
2. Sanctions Advisory
- Provide expert guidance on sanctions regulations across jurisdictions.
- Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into actionable advisories.
- Support business units with practical insights on sanctions-related risks.
3. Policies & SOPs
- Draft, review, and update policies, SOPs, and frameworks to align with evolving regulations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed compliance into operational processes.
- Ensure effective implementation and communication of compliance policies.
4. Risk & Transformation
- Lead initiatives on digital transformation in compliance, AML screening, financial crime risk, gap assessments, and third-party risk management.
- Drive process re-engineering, automation, and change management to strengthen compliance effectiveness.
- Deliver high-quality reports and presentations to senior leadership.
Preferred Profile
- 14–15 years of progressive experience in legal compliance, risk, or regulatory advisory.
- Background in consulting firms, multinational corporates, or regulatory advisory roles.
- Experience in policy development, compliance training, and sanctions/AML advisory.
- Strong leadership experience with proven ability to manage teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Graduates from reputable institutions preferred (law background not mandatory).
