Position Statement / Purpose:As a Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's storage infrastructure. Your role revolves around managing data storage systems, optimizing storage performance, ensuring data availability, and implementing robust data backup and recovery strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven applications and services while adhering to security and compliance requirements.Key Deliverables (Key Result Areas):- Storage Infrastructure Design - Storage Implementation - Data Migration - Storage Performance Optimization - Data Backup and Recovery - Storage Security - Capacity Planning - Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution - Storage Monitoring - Documentation - Collaboration - Vendor ManagementKey Responsibilities (Job Description):Your key responsibilities are,- Storage Infrastructure Design: Design and architect storage solutions that meet the organization's performance, scalability, and availability requirements. - Storage Implementation: Install, configure, and deploy storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network-Attached Storage), and object storage platforms. - Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring seamless movement of data between storage systems while minimizing disruption. - Storage Performance Optimization: Monitor storage performance and proactively optimize storage resources to meet performance demands. - Data Backup and Recovery: Design and implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters. - Storage Security: Implement and maintain storage security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data retention policies. - Capacity Planning: Analyze storage utilization and forecast future storage needs to facilitate capacity planning and avoid storage shortages. - Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve storage-related issues, such as disk failures, connectivity problems, or performance bottlenecks. - Storage Monitoring: Set up and maintain storage monitoring systems to promptly identify and address potential storage-related problems. - Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and policies. - Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, network, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and support for data storage solutions. - Vendor Management: Work with storage hardware and software vendors to procure storage equipment, obtain technical support, and stay updated on the latest storage technologies.Background:- Education: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Associate degree and Diploma in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or related discipline- Experience: - 2 to 5 years of Storage Engineer Position or as per requirement - Experience in configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points. - Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. - Knowledge of network security principles and best practices. - Familiarity with virtualization and cloud networking concepts (e.g., VMware NSX, AWS VPC, Azure Networking) is advantageous. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex network issues. - Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. - Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
