Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with 5+ years of expertise to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of enterprise-level applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of application environments, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Application Maintenance and Support:
  • Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise applications to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application-related incidents and issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  1. Incident and Problem Management:
  • Respond promptly to application incidents and service requests in line with SLAs.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate teams while maintaining ownership of communication.
  • Document incidents, solutions, and updates in the ticketing system.
  1. Environment Management:
  • Manage application environments, including production, testing, and staging.
  • Deploy updates, patches, and enhancements to applications as needed.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployments.
  1. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Use monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, or New Relic) to track application performance.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize resource usage.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement to enhance user experience.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users.
  • Communicate complex technical issues in a user-friendly manner to non-technical stakeholders.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of application processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Generate regular reports on application performance, incidents, and resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and audit requirements.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in application support or a similar role.
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-level applications.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in application monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, or Nagios).
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and databases (SQL, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation.
  • Experience with ITIL processes for incident and problem management.
  • Knowledge of APIs, web services, and middleware (e.g., REST, SOAP).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, or Docker).
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent.
