Job Description: Backend Engineer (Python/AWS)Location:Pune, India / RemoteExperience Level:4+ yearsPlease note that this is a full time contract position, initially for 6 months but would extend upto 2 years or more based on performance.The RoleWe are looking for a sharp and motivated Backend Engineer with a strong blend of development and DevOps expertise to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable, and secure backend services. You will play a crucial part in the entire development lifecycle, from concept and design to deployment and maintenance, while leveraging modern cloud-native technologies. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code using frameworks likeFastAPIandFlask . Develop and manage scalable infrastructure onAWSusing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically withAWS CDK . Implement and operate serverless architectures using services likeAWS Lambda , API Gateway, and DynamoDB. Manage user identity and access control usingAWS Cognito . Containerize applications usingDockerand manage their deployment and orchestration. Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance. Write clean, testable code and apply a strong understanding ofdata structures and algorithmsto solve complex problems. Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and contribute to improving our engineering standards and practices. Required Skills & Qualifications4+ yearsof professional experience in backend development. Strong proficiency inPythonand hands-on experience with web frameworks likeFastAPIorFlask . Solid understanding ofData Structures, Algorithms , and software design principles. Proven experience withAWSservices, including: Serverless technologies ( Lambda , API Gateway) Amazon Cognitofor user authentication Amazon DynamoDBor other NoSQL databases AWS CDKfor infrastructure management Experience with other core services likeSQS, S3, and RDS . Hands-on experience withDockerfor containerization. Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL). Familiarity withCI/CD pipelines(e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Excellentproblem-solvingand analytical skills. Strong verbal and writtencommunication skillsand the ability to work effectively in a team. Good to HaveExposure to AI/ML concepts and agentic development. Experience with LLM frameworks likeLangChainor LlamaIndex.
