Medical Oncologist

Objectives of this role

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with various types of cancers.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy.
• Supervise and administer systemic therapies safely and effectively.
• Work collaboratively with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialistsfor multidisciplinary patient care.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and prognosis.
• Participate in tumor boards, case discussions, and clinical review meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records as per institutional and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to awareness, screening, and research initiatives undertaken by the institution.
• Train, mentor, and support junior doctors, nurses, and staff involved in oncology care.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• MD/DNB in Internal Medicine followed by DM/DNB in Medical Oncology from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.
• 5+ years in Medical Oncology practice.
• Proficiency in managing chemotherapy protocols and systemic therapies.
• Strong clinical acumen, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and high-volume clinical environment.
