Emerson - Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Automation Testing

About the Role :We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously improving software quality processes to ensure we deliver reliable, scalable, and secure software solutions.As an SQA Engineer, youll collaborate across product, development, and DevOps teams to integrate quality best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Your focus will be on process compliance, automation, metrics tracking, and facilitating quality audits in line with industry standards.Key Responsibilities :- Define, implement, and maintain software quality assurance (QA) processes, standards, and policies.- Monitor and ensure compliance with Agile, DevOps, and SDLC practices.- Conduct software process audits to verify adherence to organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, CMMI).- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Developers, QA Analysts) to embed quality checkpoints across every stage of development.- Develop and maintain QA documentation, including release protocols, quality control plans, and process guidelines.- Lead initiatives to identify and implement software process improvements for enhanced product reliability and faster delivery.- Define, measure, and monitor software quality metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and code quality.- Support risk management and change control activities for all software releases.- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for recurring or critical quality issues.- Conduct training sessions and provide support to team members on QA standards and compliance practices.Required Skills & Qualifications :- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, SQA, or similar role.- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.- Strong hands-on experience with automated testing tools like Selenium, Postman, JMeter, or equivalent.- Familiarity with API testing, performance testing, and UI automation.- Good command over SQL and scripting languages for data validation and test automation.- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and DevOps pipelines.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical teams.Preferred Qualifications :- Experience with tools like JIRA, TestRail, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.- Exposure to security testing, mobile testing, or compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is a plus.Why Join Us ?- Be part of a fast-growing tech team working on impactful projects.- Get exposure to the latest tools, technologies, and QA practices.- Work in a collaborative, inclusive, and learning-driven environment.
