Job Summary :

Data is a critical function for Client. We have three major goals :

1. Enable our customers to understand their risk management/Human capital needs and solutions

2. Enable our Producers and Associates to provide industry-leading advisory services

3. Enable fact-based decision making across the organization.

We achieve these goals by providing cutting-edge data and insights to our stakeholders in an industrialized manner.

This role is in the Client Data Services team, responsible for data related functions in Client.

Direct Responsibilities :

Design and Delivery :


- Work as the primary offshore resource for any data services work required by IT teams, vendors, and consultants.


- Work as part of the team for applications, especially offshore associates mainly focused around new projects (DB components for applications including DB, ETL, etc.).


- Will be collocated with App dev team in Chennai, and will be integral part of project teams including those resources.


- Will handle design and development of all data components including storage, ETL, data consumption, performance improvement, etc

SME :


- Develop expertise in applications and solutions and serve as data consultant for projects, escalations from operational support for issues Keep updated on new technologies and trends in the data area.


- Utilize knowledge and experience to shape technology road maps, address tech debt. Share knowledge with team and help develop collective expertise

Operations support :


- Help with overseeing offshore Operational support team. Serve as escalation point and co-ordinate with other teams for issue resolution as needed

Require experience and Technical knowledge :

- Expert in current data technologies, specifically around Microsoft and Azure data products and solutions. Includes (but not limited to) MS SQL

- Azure components like Azure SQL, ADF, Databricks delta tables, Databricks notebooks, ADLS, Synapse

- Familiarity with other MS/Azure components like Fabric, Unity Catalog, LogicApps, Log Analytics

- Minimum 5 years experience as a DBA, data administrator

- Minimum 5 years experience working in development and support of enterprise level applications and systems

- Experience designing data ecosystems including data stores (operational systems, data lakes, data warehouses, data marts), ingress patterns (API, ETL/ELT), and egress patterns (analytics/decision tools, BI tools); data models

- Managing hygiene related to logs and database sizes, back-ups, space utilization, process performance etc.

- Managing data taxonomy, cataloguing and governance

- Improving query performance, Optimizing table designs

- Intermediate techniques for moving data

- Data language skills (Python, Advanced T-SQL etc)

- Based in Chennai, India (or willing to relocate there)

- Willing to work in office a majority of the time
