OpenGov - Data Solutions Engineer II

Description Overview :The Data Solutions Engineer II takes ownership of mid-sized customer data integration projects.This role demands autonomy in designing and implementing ETL solutions, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful delivery of scalable and optimized data solutions for government clients.Key Responsibilities : - Lead end-to-end implementation of data integration workflows using Python, SQL, and ETL tools.- Design efficient data pipelines that handle large volumes of structured and semi-structured data.- Collaborate with product, engineering, and client success teams to translate business requirements into technical data models.- Troubleshoot data quality and performance issues in migration and integration environments.- Create automation scripts to streamline repetitive data migration tasks.- Guide and support junior engineers in code reviews, debugging, and technical upskilling.- Participate in the continuous improvement of data integration frameworks and methodologies.- Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration architecture and process flows.Required Skills and Experience- 5+ years in data engineering, ETL, or professional services implementation roles.- Strong expertise in Python, SQL scripting, and data mapping.- Hands-on experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server.- Proficiency in designing ETL workflows and working with SaaS APIs.- Solid understanding of data governance, normalization, and data integrity principles.- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Agile delivery frameworks (ref:hirist.tech)
