Cobol (CICS) developer

Job Description:

We are seeking Senior COBOL (CICS) Developer to join our team. As a COBOL (CICS) Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical applications running on the mainframe platform. This role requires an in-depth understanding of COBOL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with other developers, business analysts, and project managers to design and develop high-quality mainframe applications.
• Write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure that code meets functional requirements and quality standards.
• Proactively identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to improve system performance and code quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for mainframe applications and systems.

Requirements:

• 3 - 8 years of experience in COBOL (CICS) Development.
• In-depth knowledge of COBOL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe technologies
• Strong programming skills and experience with design patterns and best practices for mainframe development.
• Experience with mainframe development tools such as IBM Debug Tool, File-AID.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
