We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Node.js, GraphQL, and cloud-based architectures.

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 9+ years of professional experience with a proven track record in architecting, developing, and scaling backend services.
  • As a core backend developer with strong Node.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL skills, you will lead the development and design of high-load, scalable backend solutions while mentoring a talented engineering team.
  • In addition, experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is essential.
Key Responsibilities :

Architecture & Design :
  • Architect and design scalable, reliable, and efficient backend services, APIs, and integrations using Node.js, GraphQL, and TypeScript.
  • Design and implement type-safe GraphQL schemas and optimize the use of data loaders for efficient data fetching.
  • Build, design, and optimize backend services with a focus on authentication, authorization, and data consistency across large systems.
  • Lead the development and integration of microservices, ensuring modularity and scalability across systems.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to define the technical direction of new features and products.
Backend Development :
  • Develop and maintain high-performance, high-availability backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs.
  • Build and optimize queries for NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra for performance and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and ensure code quality through unit and integration testing.
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps :
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure or AWS) for scalable backend systems.
  • Utilize containerization technologies (Docker) for service deployment and optimization.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and automate build, deployment, and testing processes using GitHub Actions or Azure Pipelines.
  • Manage the deployment and scaling of services using Kubernetes (preferably on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)).
Leadership & Mentorship :
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of developers, guiding them through complex technical challenges and ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote high-quality coding standards, design patterns, and practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their growth in backend development practices.
  • Lead by example to maintain a positive and collaborative team culture.
Performance & Security :
  • Ensure that backend systems are optimized for performance and scalability to handle large-scale, high-traffic applications.
  • Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and performance issues in both development and production environments.
  • Apply best practices to implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Conduct security audits and ensure that backend systems comply with industry standards for security and data protection.
