Role Overview:

The Business Analyst and Quality Analyst Lead (BA/QA Lead) is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology, ensuring that business solutions are implemented effectively and meet high-quality standards. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, overseeing the testing process, and ensuring that solutions are aligned with business objectives while maintaining quality at every stage of development.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis:

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications for the development and QA teams.

Conduct gap analysis, identifying areas for process improvement or new business opportunities.

Create functional specifications, use cases, workflows, and other project documentation.

Support the project team by providing ongoing communication between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Facilitate stakeholder meetings to ensure project scope and requirements are clearly understood.

Assist in the development of user training materials and documentation.

Quality Assurance:

Lead the QA team in developing test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure that software solutions meet defined business requirements and quality standards.

Oversee both manual and automated testing efforts, including functional, regression, performance, and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

Coordinate with development and product teams to identify and resolve defects early in the process.

Ensure that testing is aligned with business goals, project timelines, and deliverables.

Implement quality assurance best practices, continually improving testing processes and techniques.

Monitor testing metrics, defect tracking, and reporting to stakeholders on the quality status of projects.

Conduct root cause analysis for any defects and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.

Lead efforts to integrate test automation tools where applicable and ensure continuous improvement in QA practices.

Key Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

Ability to gather and translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.

Deep understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

Proficiency with business analysis tools (e.g., MS Visio, JIRA, or Trello) and QA tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG).

Experience in test planning, test case creation, and defect management.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor team members.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring alignment between business, development, and QA teams.

Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies is preferred.

Familiarity with continuous integration and test automation frameworks is a plus.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

5-7 years of experience in both business analysis and quality assurance roles.

Prior experience in a leadership or management position is preferred.

Experience in specific domains (e.g., software development, healthcare, or finance) may be required.

Key Objectives:

Ensure that business solutions are developed and delivered according to business requirements and quality standards.

Improve process efficiency and drive better outcomes for both business and technology teams.

Lead the QA process, ensuring defects are caught early and that the final product meets business objectives.
