Job Title : IT Operations Specialist - VS CodeLocation : CoimbatoreJob Type : : First round virtual and second round F2FNotice Period : Immediate-15 daysJob Summary : We are seeking a skilled IT Operations Specialist to join our team and manage the VS Code application within Windows environment. The IT Operations will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the VSCode application. The ideal candidate will have 3- 5 years of experience in IT operations, with a focus on ITIL (Incident, Problem and Change Management) and application management.Key Responsibilities : Administration of VSCode :- Configure and manage VS Code settings, extensions, and workspace templates for development teams.- Create and distribute standardized development environments using Dev Containers, WSL, or Remote SSH.- Integrate VS Code with source control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps).- Support(L1) developers with VS Code-related issues and troubleshooting (plugins, debugging, configuration).- Manage user profiles, extensions, themes, and keyboard shortcuts for consistency across teams.- Monitor and evaluate new VS Code features and extensions for potential adoption.- Document best practices, configuration guidelines, and troubleshooting steps.- Support integration with CI/CD pipelines and code-quality tools.Scripting and Automation : - Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and tools to optimize developer workflows in VS Code.- Create and manage tasks, launch configurations, and custom extensions to streamline build, debug, and deployment processes.- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation scripts, extensions, and VS Code configurations.- Collaborate with development teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions.- Document scripting standards, automation procedures, and best practices.- Stay current with VS Code updates, extensions, and automation trends to continuously improve workflows.User Support and Training : - Provide technical support to end-users, addressing issues related to VS Code usage and functionality.- Conduct training sessions for users to enhance their understanding of VSCode features and best practices.Documentation and Reporting : - Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.- Generate reports on usage statistics, and incident resolution.Collaboration and Communication : - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and project management, to ensure seamless integration of VS Code with other Products and Services - Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide timely solutions.Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- 3 - 5 years of experience in IT operations. Knowledge of ITIL best practices for IT service management.- Hands-on in Visual Studio Code.- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.- Hands-on in scripting languages such as Python TypeScript/JavaScript.- Hands-on in analyzing and reporting tools (Excel, PowerBi)- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with other IDE (e.g., Visual Studio, Eclipse) is a plus.- Experience with Linux and Mac OS are added advantage.- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development processes.- Knowledge of SCCM and Intune release management.
