Job Summary
  • The role is within the Projects team, who is responsible for steering the delivery of Investment Governance projects involving liquidity, IRRBB, FTP and Capital reporting improvements. The team works closely with the Change, Data, and Technology teams to drive the overall team's strategy of improving the quality of liquidity reporting in a controlled and cost-effective manner.
  • The team is a subject matter expert in the PRA regulations and risk reporting and plays a key role in transforming SCB's liquidity systems and processes as part of a strategic change.
  • The role reports to Head, Liquidity projects and forms part of the Finance operations function with business alignment to Treasury.
  • The role holder is responsible for driving change and transformation across internal and external liquidity, IRRBB, Capital and FTP reporting processes owned by the function.
  • The role will be a thought leader in steering the completion of business requirements gathering and driving processes improvement agenda for the function.
  • The role holder needs to extensively collaborate with peers in the team, particularly Global process managers for Liquidity, IRRBB, FTP and Capital reporting. The role involves significant interaction with Change and Technology teams.
  • The Projects team is based in London and India.
  • The role of ​Lead, Liquidity Projects​ is based in Bangalore, India in the Projects team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive change and transformation across internal and external liquidity, IRRBB, FTP and Capital reporting processes and deliver reporting solutions with complete end-to-end validation performed on testing results to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory reporting knowledge and interpretation on PRA, EBA and Basel, and ability to develop further understanding.
  • Business requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Demonstrate leadership in finding and implementing process improvement and optimisation opportunities.
  • Drive effective data management framework development and data analysis.
  • Stakeholder management across Liquidity, Project, and Change teams.
  • Work collaboratively with Change team and drive the agenda for optimisation of change delivery through review of testing strategy and approach to UAT / UVT
  • Team development and training
  • Monitor quality standards and future planning through formal monthly management meeting with Technology and Change covering all reporting workstreams.

  • ​​Strive for excellence in the delivery of liquidity, IRRBB, FTP and Capital reporting and change related activities. Support Treasury and key business partners in effective and optimal risk management.

  • ​​Develop solid understanding of the Group's businesses and products and how they impact regulatory metrics, reporting and associated controls.
  • ​Expertise in systems and processes used to generate regulatory metrics, particularly with experience in change projects focused process enhancements.

  • ​​Support the strategy, execution, and delivery of accurate and complete reporting with regards to data sourcing, calculations and the control framework.

  • ​​Support training and development of new and existing team members.
  • ​Set objectives for direct reports and provide regular feedback with regards to those objectives and ensure the team benefits from ongoing training and development in relation to their roles.

  • Specific Skill set:
  • Quantitative, analytical, with high attention to detail.
  • Good IT literacy, with a strong Data analysis skillset.

  • Can develop and implement solutions.
  • Can interact with stakeholders from various areas and seniority levels.
  • Liquidity, IRRBB, FTP or Capital reporting experience and Change experience gained in Banking is essential.
  • It would be desirable to have management experience as there may be a line management required.
  • Good understanding of the liquidity regulatory landscape (Basel, PRA).
  • Ability to self-review, identify issues and investigate / escalate appropriately.
  • Technical / IT skills (e.g., VBA, Python, Data Visualization with Tableau, or similar tools).
  • 10+ years' experience in Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, Market Risk, or similar area.
  • Experience in major International and / or UK banks (SCB peers).

Balance Sheet Management

Assesses, optimises and monitors the Bank's / business function's balance sheet to protect financial health, enhance financial resilience, ensure regulatory compliance, and support business growth aligning with the bank's strategy.

Capital Management

Understand and apply knowledge pertaining to the external capital markets, regulatory requirements and thresholds, and the Group's capital structure to support managing capital positions, metrics and capital risks, including stress testing, reporting and optimising the Group/Country capital resources and usage.
Only required for "Capital Reporting"

Liquidity Management

Understand and apply knowledge of external markets, regulatory requirements and thresholds, to support managing the Group's short-term liquidity obligations as well as liquidity levels and risks, including stress testing, reporting and optimising the Group/Country liquidity positions and resources.
Only required for "Liquidity Reporting"

Interest Rate Risk (IRR) Management

Leverages Interest Rate Risk (IRR) Management tools, techniques and processes within the Bank to assess and control the Bank's and/or clients' exposure to IRR in adherence to established guidelines and regulations.
Only required for "IRRBB Reporting"

Liquidity Risk

Identifies, measures, manages and monitors risks relating to the lack of ability of organisations to meet financial obligations without making catastrophic losses when selling investments / assets to cover obligations.
Only required for "Liquidity Reporting"

Credit Risk

  • Identifies, measures, manages and monitors risks relating to borrowers' failure to repay loans or meet its financial obligations to the Bank.
  • Understanding of Credit Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) methodologies, critical data elements, calculation and reporting operations and functionalities along with controls.
  • Only required for "Capital Reporting"
  • Market Risk (Advanced 'Entry' for IRRBB)
  • Identifies, measures, manages and monitors risks arising from changes to market variables impacting prices and volatility (e.g., interest rate changes, commodity price changes), on a local, regional and global level.
  • Only required for "Capital Reporting and IRRBB Reporting"

Operational Risk

  • Knowledge of policies and key frameworks to identify, measure, and monitor risks / compliance relating to the potential financial loss from inadequate or failed internal processes, technology events, human error or from the impact of external events.

Financial Products and Markets

Understand and apply knowledge pertaining to SCB customer segments, product groups and the linkages of product vs. capital and liquidity.

Other Technical Skills

Financial and Accounting Systems

  • Knowledge of functions, features and capabilities of financial and accounting systems; ability to use financial and accounting applications specific to the organisation for business and/or regulatory purposes.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (Advanced)
  • Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP) and ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.
  • Financial Process Documentation (Advanced)
  • Knowledge of appropriate techniques and ability to accurately and thoroughly document financial processes in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements, guidelines and expectations (where applicable).

Qualifications
